De La Soul & J. Dilla - Smell the Da.I.S.Y.

Posted 2 years ago

Pack your bags, because it's time for a nostalgia trip. Golden Age hip-hop superstars De La Soul have dropped Smell the Da.I.S.Y. (Da Inner Soul of Yancy), a new mixtape in honor of the late, great J. Dilla.

The project superimposes classic verses from Posdnous, Dave and Maseo over beats from the legendary producer's vault. Included among its 11 original tracks is the reader-acclaimed lead single, "Vocabulary Spills."

De La Soul rock the mic sans guest features on this project, which is backed entirely by the previously-unreleased production of James Yancey.
