LL Cool J - Authentic

In November of 1985, rapper-turned-actor-tuned-rapper/actor LL Cool J released his debut album, Radio, on Def Jam Records. 27 years and 12 albums later, the hip hop pioneer has embarked upon the release of his thirteenth studio album, the independently-released Authentic.

The LP, Cool James' first since 2008's mediocre Exit 13, finds the New York native harking back to yesteryear, recreating the rap-meets-rock hybrid sound that made him a household name. While poorly received buzz records "Ratchet" and "Take It" don't make the final tracklist, Booth-featured cuts "Whaddup" and "We Came to Party" are both present. A wide range of guests join LL on the S-BRO Music Group release, including old school artists like Bootsy Collins, Charlie Wilson, Chuck D, Earth, Wind & Fire and Eddie Van Halen, and new schoolers Fatman Scoop, Monica, Seal, Snoop Dogg and Travis Barker.
