[Review] Pioneer HDJ-X10 DJ Headphones

The last Pioneer HDJ headphones we reviewed were the HDJ-2000MK2 in 2016. Now, Pioneer is bringing it’s flagship headphone line back with three new over-ear models, the HDJ-X10, HDJ-X7, and HDJ-X5. We really liked the HDJ-2000MK2, so we’re really excited to review the HDJ-X10.  The new HDJ-X10 has even better and more durable construction and new 50mm drivers that have the widest frequency range for any DJ headphones on the market.  Check out our full review video and summary below to see how these hold up to the DJ abuse!

this essential studio process, something boutique developer Sound Radix has done masterfully with Surfer EQ 2.

In contrast to most EQ plugins - which take a static view of equalization - Surfer EQ 2 is built from the ground up around a central idea: frequency content changes over time, so your EQ adjustments should also.  This unique approach is the only one of it’s kind we’ve seen, and is genuinely useful in a wide range of production and engineering applications: in this review we’ll examine Surfer EQ 2’s novel approach to EQ and see where it ranks among our favorite plugins on the market today.

[Review] Klanghelm SDRR 2

Over the past several years, boutique developer Klanghelm - a one man shop led by Tony Frenzel - has released a series of incredibly affordable and versatile mixing plugins which have earned widespread praise and glowing reviews among engineers and producers alike.

In this review we’ll put Klanghelm’s newest release, SDRR 2 - a follow up to the widely-acclaimed SDRR saturation plugin released in 2013 - to the test to see where it ranks among our favorite in-the-box saturator and enhancement plugins.
