Numark Acquires Sonivox For Virtual Instrument Technology

Numark and it's sister companies are positioning themselves to be the go-to company for everything that has to do with the manipulation, playback, and creation of music. The Jack O'Donnell group has now added Sonivox to their current lineup that consists of Numark, Akai Pro, Alesis, Alto Pro and ION Audio. The Sonivox acquisition means that the company now has an investment into Virtual Instrument Technology that is compatible with desktop's, laptop's, PC's, Mac's, iOS and many other devices. Cumberland, R.I. (Feb. 6, 2012) – Jack O’Donnell, the force behind Numark Industries, Akai Professional, Alesis, Alto Professional and ION Audio, announces the acquisition of Sonivox, a cutting-edge software company that specializes in developing premium virtual instruments and synthesis technologies for musicians, composers and producers.

Founded in 1993, Sonivox has designed and developed innovative music software technologies and groundbreaking applications for desktop and laptop computers as well as mobile devices. Sonivox’s work can be heard in a wide array of products, including its own line of soundware and virtual instruments available for Mac and Windows PCs and its embedded music technologies found in music synthesizers, mobile devices, and more.

Sonivox’s main areas of development include a retail line of premium virtual instruments for musicians, composers and producers, and its Embedded Audio System, a full featured audio synthesis solution for mobile applications and devices such as iPhone, iPad, Android devices and other embedded architectures.
