Belva is a new player in the PA speaker system market and they sent us a new Belva BDRS-12BLU and BDRS-12P 12-inch woofer powered speakers to put them through the paces to see if they would work well for beginner or entry-level DJ use. These inexpensive powered speakers have a plethora of inputs/outputs, rugged molded enclosures, and a built-in Mixer with a two-band EQ to get the levels just right. These affordable monitors only cost $199 each and have an internal amp, 8-inch woofers, three different input types, and a rubbed MDF enclosure for good sound and durability.

NOCS is a relatively new Swedish-based company that creates high quality headphones and monitors for consumers and pro users alike. The new NOCS NS900 Live Professional DJ Headphones took two years to develop as the headphones went through many design changes until the performance was good enough for the rigors of a professional DJ. The NS900 Live headphones are now available in the US through Mixware.net who sent us a set for the full review treatment.
The Numark NS7II Professional Digital DJ controller is the successor to the original (and wildly popular) NS7 which was released a few years ago by Numark as the first all-in-one DJ control surface to include motorized platters with real vinyl and slip mats instead of jog wheels for track control. The new NS7II keeps the same stellar build quality, footprint size, and actively spinning platters as seen on the original, while adding two additional decks of control, touch sensitive EQ and FX controls, and 16 authentic AKAI Professional MPC pads to control features such as loops, hotcues, and slicers.
The Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear headphones sport a minimalistic design that is all business with a solid metal construction and top-tier materials used throughout. Although early on we realized that the Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear Headphones were not really suited for Professional DJ use, they do perform well with almost every other listening application or multimedia need due to great sound characteristics and a lightweight yet comfortable construction with soft Alcantara headband and earcups.
