Phiaton is a relatively new audio company that produces some good quality headphones for all types of users. The Phiaton Bridge MS 500 headphones have an over-the-ear design and premium construction materials throughout including a solid aluminum body and genuine leather earcups and headband for added comfort and durability. We’ve completed this review to see just how they hold up in the DJ booth.
The Beats by Dr. Dre headphone range includes all sorts of models ranging from over-the-ear active noise cancelling, to inner ear-buds that were created in conjunction with B-ball star Lebron James. The Beats headphone range as a whole has been given a bad rap amongst many DJ inner-circles, but here at DJbooth.net, we like to give all DJ gear a fair shake, no matter what name brand they come from. We’ve never reviewed any Beats headphones before, so we thought that the new DJ-inspired Mixr headphones would be the perfect place to start.
The DJ Pro headphones are the top-of-the-line cans from SMS Audio with their over-the-ear design, 40mm drivers, fold-able hinges, and comfortable leather with memory foam earpads. Even though they are advertised and designed for DJ’s, we’ll take a deeper dive in our video and written reviews to let you know how they truly hold up under pressure.
The Legendary guitar amp company Marshall revisits the drawing board for their headphone lineup and delivered a high quality headphone that is sure to please every day music enthusiasts as well as delivering on many features that DJ’s need. They’ve come up with their new premier model of headphones called the Marshall Monitor which sports a set of heavy-duty-metal folding hinges, over-the-ear 40mm driver design, and an additional headphone input port on both earcups to share the music with a friend. The Vestax HMX-05 Headphones are the newest headphones released by the Vestax Pro DJ Division and are sure to be a hit with Vestax DJ controller and Mixer users who want a versatile headphone for their listening or DJ needs. The Vestax HMX-05 headphones are available in a Red/Black color scheme that looks perfect along side the Vestax PMC-05proIV mixer or their VCI-400 and VCI-380 DJ controllers. Sol Republic is a relatively new company with a nice line of headphones of a few various shapes and sizes to suit all sorts of listening styles and needs. The Sol Republic Master Tracks headphones are their new over-the-ear style of headphones that could possibly fit the bill for DJ’s needs based on its construction and replaceable parts offered in case anything ever does break. The purpose of this review is to test them out further to see if they can handle the abuse and needs of a Performing DJ. The Cerwin Vega P-series speakers are available in a 15-inch, active 2-way speaker setup (P1500X) and a powered subwoofer version in the 18-inch configuration (P1800SX). In this review we will focus on the P1800SX subwoofer model as the review of the P1500X was completed yesterday morning and can be found in the next story below.
