As fans of the Minneapolis mainstay are aware, Brother Ali has involved himself heavily in the Occupy Homes movement, even allowing himself to be arrested while protesting an eviction. What you may not have known was that he was visually documenting his journey every step of the way. Premiered earlier today via OccupyHomesMN’s official site, Andrew Melby and One Light Collective‘s official video for new single Work Everyday depicts Ali collaborating with fellow artists and activists from the organization (including numerous friends and acquaintances from my own days in the Twin Cities), climaxing with him being cuffed by Minneapolis police. The record itself is just as fresh and inspiring as you’d expect, with Ali delivering politically-charged verses over an uplifting Jake One production. Fans can find Work, previously-featured single Only Life I Know and many more quality cuts on Mourning in America and Dreaming in Color, available in stores and online as of September 2012.
