9th Wonder Reveals the Emcee at the Top of His Bucket ListPosted May 9, 2017 by DJ Z
Over the course of his 15-year career, legendary producer 9th Wonder has worked with a who's who list of talented emcees. In addition to producing two albums as a part of Little Brother, as well as records for Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, Raekwon, Rapsody and Anderson. Paak, among countless others, the North Carolina native has released full-length collaborative albums with Buckshot, David Banner, Jean Grae, Murs, Pete Rock and Skyzoo.
Although despite building up one of the most impressive production resumes this side of Just Blaze, there is one artist who the accomplished producer has yet to work with during his decade and a half of service in the music industry: Redman.
Everybody always asks who's on my bucket list for an album. The next one I want to do one with is @therealredman— 9th Wonder (@9thwonder) May 9, 2017
While it might seem strange that someone like 9th Wonder, a producer who has the clout and cache to connect and work with any artist under the sun, would even have a bucket list, it's important to remember that prior accomplishment isn't necessarily a reflection of future opportunity.
However, unlike an unproven Kendrick Lamar tweeting 9th Wonder in 2010—correspondence that laid the foundation for their latest collaboration on Lamar's acclaimed DAMN.—9th tweeting about his desire to check Redman off of his bucket list will most likely not include a show and prove component. If for whatever reason Redman experiences a temporary bout of amnesia, though, we'd encourage him to press play on 9th's stellar 2011 release, The Wonder Years.
Make it happen, fellas.
