Following a turbulent 2016, during which he was charged with—and later found not guilty of—sexual assault in Vienna, Austria, Freddie Gibbs is gearing up for his return to music later this month.

On Wednesday (March 8), the Gary, Indiana native announced the forthcoming release of You Only Live 2wice, his fourth full-length album and the first since Shadow of a Doubt in November of 2015.

The 8-track project, which includes the Teddy Walton and Aaron Bow-produced lead single "Crushed Glass," will be released independently through Gibbs' own ESGN and EMPIRE Distribution and is currently available for pre-order on iTunes.

Given that it's been less than 18 months since his last project release, it would be inaccurate to label You Only Live 2wice as a "comeback" album, but based on its title and Gibbs' proclamation that the project will mark "the return," its potential impact could be significant.
