Welcome to 10 Fans Explain, where—you guessed it—we ask 10 fans of a popular yet polarizing artist to explain the reason(s) why they think that artist is amazing.

For the inaugural edition of 10 Fans Explain, we have Lil Uzi Vert.

Like many of his new generation peers, Uzi receives a lot of hate. As one of the first names that come to mind when the phrase “mumble rap” is thrown around, Uzi’s been shitted on by hip-hop purists for everything from a lack of bars to his style of dress to his name itself and everything in-between.

Yet, with four Platinum plaques under his Gucci belt—two for hits that reached Billboard’s Top 10—over 5 million combined followers across social media, and die-hard fans that can't stop tackling him out of admiration, the Philadelphia-born artist certainly has more than enough people in his corner.

Since we're here to focus on the positives, we asked 10 of these individuals to explain why, specifically, they think Lil Uzi Vert is an amazing artist.

Who knows, maybe if you didn’t already count yourself as a fan, one of them will change your mind...

"Lil Uzi Vert really caught my attention because of how melodic he is."

Name: Jerreh Manjang
Hometown: Montreal, Canada
Favorite Uzi Song: "NuYork Nights At 21 ++"

"Lil Uzi Vert really caught my attention because of how melodic he is. People hate him because of his style and lack of lyricism. But I don't see him as a lyricist. I see him as an artist who makes great music. Of course, lyrics have a part in great music, but when someone makes good music and incorporates their voice so well with the beat, it's a plus."

"His music is ignorant bliss and I'm okay with that."

Name: Zach Doebler
Hometown: Peoria, IL
Favorite Uzi Song: "XO Tour Llif3"

"I know Uzi vert is not a lyricist, the guy doesn't even consider himself a rapper. However he has an excellent ear for melodies and simple lines that get stuck in your head all day. People have been doing this for years, Gucci, Waka, Future, Juicy J...etc. His music is ignorant bliss and I'm okay with that."

"He makes great songs with catchy and addictive hooks."

Name: Ken Nartey
Hometown: Accra, Ghana (West Africa)
Favorite Uzi Song: "You Was Right"

"He makes great songs with catchy and addictive hooks. I don't go to him for bars or nothing, I just play his tapes as casual listens. He's the type of artist where you'll hear his song and be like, 'What the fuck is he doing?' and then two days later, that same song will come on when you're playing your music on shuffle and then you'll fuck with it. It keeps ringing in your head afterward. Eventually, you'll return to the tape and bump everything wondering why you never fucked with it on the first listen."

"Uzi is leading the punk rap movement that is currently taking place."

Name: Benjamin Grieve
Hometown: Orlando, FL
Favorite Uzi Song: "Top"

"When I first started listening to Uzi, I wasn't a fan of his music at all. But then after seeing him at Rolling Loud this past year, my opinion changed drastically. I've been noticing that hip-hop/rap has been following the same timeline that rock has over its existence. To me, Uzi is leading the punk rap movement that is currently taking place and I always support people that are trying to make their own wave."

"Watching his concerts shows the love and craziness he has for the music world."

Name: Kenneth Emmanuel
Hometown: Uyo, Akwa Ibom (Nigeria)
Favorite Uzi Song: "You Was Right"

"Lil Uzi Vert is cool and amazing because of his very unique and different style of creating music and his love for the music. Watching his concerts shows the love and craziness he has for the music world."

"Uzi relates to me in that he feels like a loner, but he's okay with it."

Name: Liziwe Ludziya Dantile
Hometown: Pretoria, South Africa
Favorite Uzi Song: "XO TOUR Llif3"

"Uzi relates to me in that he feels like a loner, but he's okay with it (and that's why all his friends are dead). He's conquered, he never gave up and he won't let anyone tear him down, or change him. He's got himself at the end of the day. He's a hustler."

"He's so different than everybody, he's in his own lane."

Name: Roberto Lo
Hometown: Boynton Beach, FL
Favorite Uzi Song: "Ps & Qs"

"He's so different than everybody, he's in his own lane. It's a rap and punk rock mix type of sound."

"Uzi completely embraces himself and doesn't seem to conform to anyone's view of what or who he should be."

Name: Myles Joseph-Givhan
Hometown: Queens, New York
Favorite Uzi Song: "Yamborghini Dream"

"Simply put, Uzi completely embraces himself and doesn't seem to conform to anyone's view of what or who he should be. What rapper do you know who bumps Marylin Manson? And even though I would never bump a Manson song in my life, I love the fact that he does so shamelessly."

"He's daring and carefree."

Name: Jazz Jay
Hometown: Lawton, OK
Favorite Uzi Song: "Noisey Tour Life Freestyle"

"Uzi is one of my favorite artists because he's daring and carefree. He takes pop/punk melodies and themes and shapes them to fit a hip-hop frame. Dude knows he’s a rock star and knows everyone bites his style, but he continues to prosper and doesn't give haters any shine."

"He continues to push the boundaries on how rap is defined."

Name: Taku Kwads
Hometown: St. Catharines, Ontario (Canada)
Favorite Uzi Song: "Grow Up"

"Uzi's amazing because he continues to push the boundaries on how rap is defined."
