Chicago Rapper Towkio Signs Record Deal With Rick Rubin’s American Recordings

Towkio, a member of Chicago's SAVEMONEY collective, has signed a record deal with Rick Rubin's American Recordings/Republic Records and is preparing to release his formal debut, .WWW., later this year. 

The 24-year-old, born Preston Oshita, has already released two singles from the album, including DJBooth Editor's Pick "Drift" and the newly-released "Hot Shit," co-produced by Towkio and Carter Lang.

Towkio independently released .Wav Theory, a 12-track mixtape featuring fellow SAVEMONEY members Chance The Rapper, Vic Mensa and Nico Segal, in 2015, which was followed by Community Service 2, another mixtape, in 2016.
