Kanye & Common Invade 2006 Global Mixx DJ Retreat

In exchange for their participation, charitable donations will be made to the rappers’ non-profit organizations. "Each of us stems from our own community and what we learn from it matters a great deal on our interaction with others outside of it. Sharing our resources through organizations such as the Kanye West and Common Ground Foundation is vital for the survival of our Youth,” stated Mary Datcher, the Global Mixx DJ Retreat Founder.

The Global Mixx DJ Retreat is an exclusive invitation-only conference where urban DJs can network with music executives, preview upcoming releases and emerging artists, attend panels and socialize with DJ from across the country. This year’s retreat takes place August 10-13, 2006 in Chicago at The House of Blues. Scheduled events include artist spotlight showcases, a skating party, an invitation-only mansion party, a celebrity softball game, a bowling tournament, an awards show, and three panels.

About Kanye West
Six-time Grammy winner, Kanye West has collaborated with numerous artists, most notably with rapper Twista on songs such as “Overnight Celebrity” and “Slow Jamz,” which featured Jamie Foxx.
