Download DJBooth's new App, The PLUG As a photographer, I have several artists that I could shoot over and over and never get bored. Pac Div is definitely in that category for me. I’ve covered them several times and I’m always inspired by their energy level and group chemistry. Although I had never seen N.E.R.D. live, I had a feeling they would exude similar energy, so I jumped at the chance to cover this event when it came up, and my expectations were definitely met.

I’m not sure I could think of a more fitting opener for N.E.R.D. than Pac Div, as both groups are so similar—and a dream for a photographer. Both sets were high energy and both groups have an amazing chemistry that allows them to feed off each other throughout the performance. Even more amazing was their constant interaction with the crowd. It was interesting to see N.E.R.D. and Pharrell, who have been around for a while, just as appreciative of and interactive with the fans as Pac Div, relative newcomers to the game.
