Where Brooklyn At? Take the NYC Rapper Borough Quiz

Geography is as important to rappers as it was to Christopher Columbus. The first question you ask when you hear a new rapper? Name. The second? Where are they from? Granted, a zip code has no actual direct connection to skill, but it's still one of the most important attributes to an emcee. I mean, shit, some rappers make their hometown an essential part of their identity; when you hear YG, instantly you know where he's from.

Whether you are from Queens or Queensland, Australia, everyone knows that New York is the hip-hop capital of the world. Not only did hip-hop begin in NYC, but it is home to some of the best rappers to ever grace the earth. Just imagine if Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Lebron and about 30% of the rest of the NBA were all from the same city; that's what New York hip-hop is like.

Below are 20 names: all rappers, all from New York. Of course, you probably could have guessed that, but do you know which borough they each rep? That's your test today. Some will be easier, some harder, but it ultimately it should prove to be a good indication of how well you know, or don't know, your Big Apple faves.

Using the honor code, only you will ever know if you cheated on an online rap quiz. And, let's go.....

Ja Rule

Joey Badass

Immortal Technique

Puff Daddy

Big Pun

Action Bronson

Troy Ave

Jay Z

50 Cent

Old Dirty Bastard

Big L

Nicki Minaj

Mos Def

ASAP Rocky

Notorious B.I.G

Grand Master Flash

Mobb Deep

Before you get upset that we didn't rep every borough evenly or that your favorite New York rapper wasn't included, keep in mind that naming every rapper from New York City would take more time than we have to put into a rap quiz. This isn't some definitive list, but rather a sampling. So don't worry, this is only part 1 of 1,000. From Nas to Your Old Droog, we won't stop until we cover every rapper from New York.

So, how'd you do?
