Though Booth readers who have been doing their memory-training exercises may recall hearing the Massachusetts twosome’s Feel I Bring given a wintry twist courtesy of Black El and Durkin back in December 2011, we’ve yet to feature any pure, unfiltered Aer on our pages. Today, we rectify that oversight by bringing you a freshly-minted promo single off the crew’s next studio album. Floats Your Boat finds crewmates David von Mering (who provides the joint’s mellow, reggae-infused boardwork) and Carter Shultz celebrating the endless possibilities contained within a single summer day—from kicking it at the beach with your homies to getting trashed and ripping off local eating establishments (“Wake up way too early, get some food and dine and dash. / Too hung over to know the difference between this and that.”). If you’re in need of more inspiration for poential warm-weather activities, simply peep Matt Miggz’ official video, which sees the duo grilling, boating and even selling lemonade in front of the crib. Think this joint, as speculated on the back, will still be getting spins in summer 2040? Then you won’t want to miss the rest of the timeless jams in store on The Bright Side, set to drop July 30. Additionally, watch for Aer to embark on a 50-city North American Tour this coming fall.
