The Death of Me

There’s something to be said for stating the obvious – at least when the obvious is being stated in the form of a fresh new record from Ahmad, making its world premiere right here in the Booth. On the final leak off his forthcoming comeback LP, the West Coast vet who recently brought us Get Some Money and Go to Jail tells the world “I’ma Emcee” and goes on to prove that assertion beyond the shadow of a doubt. Over an infectiously bouncy beat co-produced by the artist and KP, the South Central native takes a trip down Memory Lane, recounting how he “fell in love with hip-hop” in engagingly-flowed verses. Of course, he’s not only an emcee and a producer – to top it all off, the artist laces the chorus with sung vocals even smoother than those he showcased Back in the Day. Digging this upbeat track? You can hear more on The Death of Me, dropping tomorrow (August 10) along with this record’s official video accompaniment. In addition, fans will be able to catch Ahmad, along with TiRON and Tanya Morgan, at a Booth-sponsored showcase to take place in L.A. later this month – keep it locked for further details!
