To this day, Immortal Technique’s Akir-assisted cut, Treason, still hits as hard as the first time I heard it. Now the duo is back with another powerful cut that, like Treason, will hit just as hard 10 years into the Future. The Booth newcomer is joined behind the boards by co-producers Jesse Castro and Ty Steez; together the three cook up an intricate beat in which numerous small effects mix with a strong percussion rhythm to create an elaborate, unrelenting sound. Exhibiting similarly caustic, venomous flows, Akir and Technique drop some serious knowledge, delivering densely-packed bars to match the tracks overall tone. Future is slated to appear on Akir’s forthcoming album, The Plan, due out in September.
