Akrobatik - Alive

Posted 3 years ago
Producer:
Fakts One
Album:
None (Promo Single)

The Boston hip-hop community was hit hard early last year when Akrobatik, one of the city’s most noted emcee’s, suffered an aortic dissection (a condition in which there is a separation of the aorta walls). On his return record, which is fittingly-titled Alive, the New England spitter recounts his near tragic experience in vivid detail, from the phone call to 9-1-1 that he was barely able to make to the vital, emergency heart surgery that saved his life. The Fakts One-produced track, of course, doesn’t pass without Akrobatik expressing his appreciation for those who kept him in mind, spitting, “And to each and everyone who said a prayer for me, shed a tear for me, maybe put one in the air for me/ All I can say is thanks for giving me strength.” Alive is not (yet) attached to a project from the DJBooth favorite, but it does serve as a sort of cathartic, thank you to fans from an appreciative and very much alive emcee.
