With his Booth-hosted debut just a week and change from release, Al-J returns to our pages with another world premiere off the project.  Coming on the heels of late October’s reader-acclaimed Above & Beyond, The Past Meets the Future is a modern-day street banger with a throwback feel. Teddy Roxpin reprises his role behind the boards from the aforementioned cut, layering sampled brass hits over a boom-bap rhythm as the Blak Madeen member and Queensbridge vet Tragedy Khadafi chronicle their efforts to fight injustice and create social change through their music. For this lyrically-driven selection and much more, check out Al-J’s Blak to the Future LP November 19, when it hits The DJBooth for free streaming and download via Leedz Edutainment.
