Aleon Craft w/ Fitz & The Tantrums - Don’t Gotta Work It Out (Solar-Hop Remix)

Producer:
SMKA
Album:
Craft Singles

The things Aleon Craft does for us; in addition to creating dope, innovative jams for progressive hip-hop heads to vibe out to, the Atlanta buzzmaker’s taken it upon himself to introduce fans to the best indie rock has to offer on his latest street release. One of eight joints hand-picked for inclusion on Craft Singles, Los Angeles soul ensemble Fitz & the TantrumsDon’t Gotta Work It Out gets the Solar-Hop Remix treatment on the project’s inaugural leak. Over the group’s boisterous, piano-led instrumental backdrop (reminiscent of a funkified Elton John joint), the freestyle series alumnus trades verses with frontman Michael Fitzpatrick. Playing off the original’s relationship-gone-sour theme, Craft develops his version of the joint into a caustic, pop-referential kiss-off to a female who continually takes him for granted—sick of her ungrateful attitude, he announces, “It’s too late to apologize, skip in line, place took.” Craving more delicious Singles? Then stay tuned to the Booth for further genre-blending leaks off Aleon Craft’s forthcoming street release, as well as release details as they develop.
