Based on the title of his forthcoming album (Club Wiley) and his label home (Closed Sessions), you might assume that Alex Wiley only makes music for a select, exclusive group of lucky listeners. Thankfully, the emcee is much more open than that, sharing bangers like Creepin with the whole wide world. Over Hippie Sabotage‘s gritty, rock-infused beat, Wiley exhibits a high-pitched, slurred flow that complements the record’s street-ready vibe. Guest Freddie Gibbs, a fellow Midwest native, might have a much deeper and more direct flow than the headliner, but his attitude and edgy appeal make him the perfect addition to the cut. The release date for Club Wiley, the LP to which this joint is attached, is slowly Creepin up; the project is set to drop early next month.
