Angel Haze - Initiation

Posted 3 years ago
Producer:
Illangelo
Album:
Unreleased

Earlier this month, Angel Haze kicked off promotion for her Universal Republic debut album with No Bueno, a lead single which, contrary to its title, received relatively bueno reviews from our readership. Now, we receive a loosie outtake in the form of Initiation. While the record is unrelated to The Weeknd‘s record of the same title, its vibe is a similar mix of sexy and creepy, as epitomized by Haze’s dubious proposition in verse one: “I’ll take you to my place, and f**k you with my mind. / Till you’ve got no perception of space, and no perception of time.” Haze lifts Illangelo‘s grimy, dissonant electronic production to accompany her bars. How about it, readers? Did Initiation deserve a spot on Dirty Gold? Debate away—and keep it locked for the latest on the project, which currently lacks a drop date.
