Fresh off earning positive reader reviews for mixtape lead single Don’t Test Me, B.K. rap wunderkind Astro returns to our pages with a new promo cut not attached to his sophomore project. On Crazy, a minimal BMC beat sets the stage for some real talk on the topic of finance. Echoing our own Nathan S., he spits, “As rappers we be frontin’ hard talkin’ bout we got it all / Say you ball with money lookin’ sad, it’ll make you bald / Label advances leave pennies after taxes / Spit crack, and save the drug money under your mattress.” If this lyrically uncompromising cut leaves you craving more, then keep it locked for the latest on Astro’s yet-untitled street album, coming this fall. The artist’s freshman set, Deadbeats & Lazy Lyrics, is still available for streaming and download in The DJBooth.
