Sometimes, hip-hop crews can feel like a set of Russian nesting dolls. Take Booth-newcoming collective Audiopium. Play Cousin and iLL University, the members appearing on debut feature Plan B. Like Mike (Duncan On Em’), aren’t individual rappers but duos, consisting respectively of Solomon Vaughn and Jordan Craft, and IStayJammin and Black Plaque. And each of them are three tiny aliens in a trenchcoat, like that one scene in Space Jam. Now that that’s cleared up, feel free to hit play and enjoy the song itself, which finds the aforementioned Colorado reppers delivering witty, irreverent bars over crewmate Boonie Mayfield‘s leisurely bassline. For more fresh cuts, cop debut album Boonie Mayfield Presents: Audiopium when it drops independently on Tuesday, September 23.
