August Alsina - Don’t Forget About Me

Posted 2 years ago
Producer:
Eric Hudson
Album:
Downtown: Life Under the Gun

Amid all the activity of the holiday season, it’s easy to lose track of what’s going on in the music game; I know I’m still getting back up to speed. Def Jam fast-riser August Alsina isn’t about to let his fanbase fall into distraction just when he’s hitting his stride. On a fresh single off his last EP, featured along with Payne Lindsey‘s official visuals, he exhorts listeners, “Don’t Forget About Me.” This cut’s purpose may be to draw attention to the I Luv This Sh*t singer/songwriter’s latest project, but the message is quite a bit deeper than that. Backed by beatsmith Eric Hudson‘s glittering keyboard arpeggios, Alsina reminisces about the hardships he’s endured up to this point, and stresses the importance of appreciating friends and family while they’re around. Don’t Forget is just one of many fresh cuts to be found on the Downtown: Life Under the Gun EP, available now for purchase on iTunes.
