Usually when I’m driving I have my iPod connected so that I can pick and choose what I want to listen to. Occasionally (when I forget my iPod) I like to venture out and check what the radio has to offer. What usually plays are new techno-influenced love ballads sung in Autotune or hits that are rarely newer than five years old. Well, last week one of those very songs was played, Baby Bash’s 2003 single Suga Suga, and I hate to admit it, but I remembered more than a bit of the lyrics. Well, it seems possible Mr. Bash might welcome himself back into regular radio rotation as he’s just released Slide, his new single form his forthcoming indie album Cool & Consistance. Produced by Happy Perez, Slide has an insouciant feeling with spaced guitar riffs over which Bash and crooner Miguel extend a musical invitation to the opposite sex to come chill. With a record like this that’s sure to be popular with those that possess a set of XX chromosomes, Cool & Consistance might just put Baby Bash back on top when the projects drops via his own Bashtown label.
