Bad Newsz Greatest - Aurora Borealis

Posted 4 years ago
Producer:
Bravestarr & Mista Marcus
Album:
D.R.U.G.S 2

What does Aurora Borealis, a meteorological phenomenon in which the collision of energized particles with atoms high up in Earth’s atmosphere gives rise to dazzling patterns of light in the sky, have to do with Aurora Borealis, the new record by Bad Newsz Greatest?  Uh… I’ve got nothing. However unfathomable the title of the Cali rhymesayer’s latest mixtape leak (a Booth-exclusive world premiere!), though, the cut shares one key trait with the Northern Lights: the ability to inspire awe in onlookers or (as the case may be) listeners. Brewstarr and Mista Marcus go for broke on the production tip, accenting their majestic, sampled instrumental with a classic snippet from Black Moon’s I Got Cha Opin, and the emcee comes with larger-than-life, braggadocio-packed bars to match. Is Newsz destined to “...live forever, like Preach said in Cooley High”? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for certain: those who think this Left Coast hopeful’s got what it takes to write his name among the stars won’t want to miss his DJBooth-sponsored D.R.U.G.S. 2 street album when it arrives on our mixtape page in mid-February.
