Bam & Urbs - Caught Me by Surprise

Posted 2 years ago
Producer:
Urbs

Until five minutes ago, I wasn’t aware that Afrika Baby Bam of the Jungle Brothers had linked up with beatsmith Urbs to create a joint project. I guess you could say that their new single Caught Me by Surprise. (Unlike my corny usage of the title in that last sentence, which was predictable as f*ck.) After giving the record a listen, I can happily say that it’s as dope as it is unexpected. Urbs’ sunny, sampled production is the perfect antidote to a gloomy winter day, and Bam turns in an equally refreshing performance on the vocal tip, switching fluidly between rapped bars and laid-back crooning. Feeling it? Then stay tuned; the twosome’s collaborative debut has yet to receive either a title or a solid drop date, but we’ll keep you posed on the project as further details emerge.
