bell hooks

How do you follow up a Booth debut as fresh and unconventional as Kurt De La Rocha, the first feature from Windy City crew BBU? However you damn well please, as long as it’s dope. More conventional than its predecessor, though no less bracing or controversy-seeking, The Hood finds beatsmith Classick and crew member DJ Esquire serving up a funky, sampled beat as Jasson Perez, Epic and Illekt flaunt their inner-city style and street politics. G.O.O.D. Music‘s GLC, a member of Chi-town’s old guard, guests. For more, check out BBU’s bell hooks mixtape when it drops February 14, via Mishka Records.
