Ben Official ft. Mathien & R.O.E. - Direct Descendant

Posted 4 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
Mathien and Authentik Made
Album:
Circa 87

Many R&B greats have called the Windy City of Chicago home and on his DJBooth debut feature Nigerian-born singer Ben Official is a welcomed addition to that growing soul movement. For Direct Descendant the crooner recruits fellow Chicagoans Mathien, who handles vocals and co-production, and Freestyle Series Alumni R.O.E. While two soul singers featured on one song can sometimes get a little tricky, both our DJBooth newcomer and Mathien seem to mesh together in perfect unison. Mathien‘s aforementioned work behind-the-boards, along with Authentik Made, provide Direct Descendant with its bluesy yet modern feel. Lastly, emcee R.O.E. adds a bit of welcomed edginess to the song with a swift, but fitting guest verse. If Ben Official’s soulful jam has the singer on you radar then circle August 28, the date when his new album Circa 87 is released.
