Jarren Benton - Ima Murder

Posted 5 years ago
Producer:
Trackslayaz
Album:
Huffing Glue With Hasselhoff

Jarren Benton‘s last mixtape leak, hazy punchline-fest A Spacesuit & Parachute, earned high praise from listeners starving for wit and humor in an all-too-serious game. Like that of Heath Ledger’s Joker, however, the ATL representative’s comical demeanor is only a mask for the diabolically destructive force beneath. On Ima Murder, the rapper gives his dark side free rein; over Trackslayaz tension-fraught production (complete with a spooky dash of musical saw), the freestyle series alum spits the most entertaining account of criminal insanity since Shady‘s 3 AM, boasting of the sizable collection of dead bodies rotting in his basement and threatening to add his rivals’ corpses to the pile. The end result is sure to leave strong-stomached fans both impressed and a little concerned about Benton’s mental state. The squeamish… well, they’ll probably end up cowering under a blanket. For more fresh, funny and occasionally frightening hip-hop goodness, check out Benton and SMKA’s Huffing Glue With Hasslehoff mixtape when it hits the ‘net on the 25th.
