Beyoncé - Partition
Usually, we’ll feature the album version of a single before turning our attention to remixes, let alone unofficial ones. With Beyoncé‘s latest, however, we’re flipping the script: a month and change after bringing you Busta Rhymes and Azealia Banks‘s version of the cut, we’re proud to present Partition in its original form. The second half of a longer track by the same title, this jam epitomizes the risque themes and minimal production running through Bey’s self-titled set. Accompanied by Timbaland, J Roc and Key Wane‘s slinky synths and seductive “sweatdrop” sound effects, the pop heavyweight describes a back-of-the-limo tryst with her man in explicit detail. Director Jake Nava provides some sensual, masterfully shot visuals to accompany her narrative. Partition can, of course, be found on the artist’s fifth full-length, available in stores and online as of December.
