At the top of the year, R&B hopeful Bianca Leonor made her first DJBooth appearance with Say My Name, a debut single that left our resident R&B-lovers hungry for more. Fast-forward seven months, and the Golden State native is back with freshly-released follow-up Regret. A far cry from its bubbly predecessor, this heartbroken ballad details the artist’s anguish upon catching her man in the act of cheating. Mick Schultz, Leonor’s label boss and the producer behind Jeremih‘s early work, once again assists his signee behind the boards, crafting a suitably melancholy backdrop for the singer’s heartbroken, yet powerful vocal performance. Bianca first-ever video, directed by Danny Erb, offers a muted, cinematic depiction of the record’s narrative. Regret isn’t attached to a larger project but, as always, we’ll keep you supplied with the latest from this promising up-and-comer.
