Big Boi ft. Phantogram - Objectum Shalamar

Posted 2 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
Dungeoneze (aka DJ Dark Fader)
Album:
Mash-Up Monday Series

Yesterday, for the first time in a several weeks, we neglected to bring y’all the latest #MashupMondays release. I humbly apologize for the oversight, because not only is Objectum Shalamar worthy of our attention, but it just might be the catchiest entry in Big Boi‘s series to date. The fifth of nine weekly installments, this jam is a disco-infused reimagining of Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors standout Objectum Sexuality. The funky instrumental backdrop from Shalamar’s 1982 hit, A Night to Remember, accompanies General Patton as he delivers his lustful verses. Though the NYC electronic group get edged out by DJ Dark Fader behind the boards, Phantogram returns to deliver the record’s eminently hummable hook. Keep it locked for further weekly releases in the #MashupMondays series, as well as the latest on Big Boi’s forthcomnig solo set and Outkast reunion album. For more from Phantogram, check out their Voices LP, released last week to record stores and online retailers.
