Featuring:
Producer:
M-Phazes
Album:
American Cancer Society (Promo Single)

When Booth-acclaimed artists join forces to record a dope record, that’s a Beautiful thing. And when the record in question is created to support an important cause? That’s f*cking gorgeous. A new promo single created in support of the American Cancer Society, Big K.R.I.T.‘s latest release finds him hooking up with Big Apple fave Outasight, “conscious” rap heavyweight Talib Kweli and singer Mela Machinko to celebrate the power of hope and determination to help one overcome even the most formidable obstacles in one’s path. M-Phazes handles production duties, bookending his jazzy, sampled beat with quotes from cancer survivors, and the collaborators come with poetic motivational rhymes to match. K.R.I.T. heads off the pack, encouraging those struggling to “take the burdens off your shoulders and send ‘em to the highest,” and Kweli follows him up with a lyrically vivid middle 16. Last but not least, Outasight reflects upon his efforts to conquer fear on the closing 16, as well as backing Machinko up on her heartfelt chorus. Digging this inspirational banger? You’ll be able to purchase your own copy (with all proceeds going to the ACS) tomorrow, when it hits the ‘net via Coalmine Records.
