Bipolar Sunshine - Drowning Butterflies

Producer:
Jazz Purple
Album:

On his last EP single, Manchester singer/songwriter Bipolar Sunshine responded to the pain and suffering around him by resolving to Love More & Worry Less—an example we’d all do well to follow. The freshly-released follow-up, project title track Drowning Butterflies, departs from its predecessor’s open-hearted style in favor of oblique lyrics and a spikier sound. Producer Jazz Purple‘s eclectic percussion (I think I hear an agogô in there.) and syncopated guitar stabs accompany Sunshine as he compares people in love to the titular insects. At least I think that’s what he’s getting at—the atmospheric haze of reverb maks his verses, at times, tough to decipher. Feeling it? More left-of-center bangers await on Drowning Butterflies (the EP), set to drop November 11, via the Aesthetic Recordings.
