B.o.B. - Hip-Hop Ain’t Dead (The Future)

In late ‘06, Nas stirred up plenty of controversy with his ‘Hip Hop is Dead’ sentiment (which later became the title of both his eighth album and its first single).  Since then, however, many underground and up-and-coming indie emcees (many of which we’ve featured in the DJBooth) have emerged, solidifying a confident and talented youth movement. If it isn’t already obvious, B.o.B. has made it official: Hip Hop Ain’t Dead.  While the Atlanta native admits that the sub-genre of “gangsta rap” has met its demise, he also reassures fans that true hip-hop is alive and well, so long as artists of his kind are around to lead listeners into The Future.  Produced by Infinity, Hip Hop Ain’t Dead (The Future) should easily cement B.o.B.‘s spot on your list of talented young artists on the rise.
