B.o.B - Many Rivers
B.o.B may respect No Genre boundaries, but that doesn’t mean that his next street album won’t feature some raw and uncut, lyrically-driven material for die-hard hip-hop heads. Those craving some nourishing beats and rhymes need look no further than new single Many Rivers. Here, the artist’s own flip of Jimmy Cliff’s powerful Many Rivers to Cross sets the stage for verses reflecting on Bobby Ray’s own fight to survive and thrive in a cold wold, as well as the collective struggles of his people. Video director 1st Impressions foregrounds the record’s political themes, utilizing black and white footage reminiscent of the Civil Rights era. Feeling it? More awaits on No Genre 2, dropping digitally tomorrow, July 9.
