B.o.B - Play For Keeps

Posted 4 years ago
Valentino Khan

As if having two number one albums wasn’t proof enough that B.o.B. takes this music thing pretty seriously, the new wave ATLien makes his intentions to stay in the game for a long, long time with new video single Play for Keeps. A standout cut from his recently released Strange Clouds album, Play for Keeps follows Bobby Ray as he travels the globe from Paris’ Arc de Triomphe to smoky Miami clubs with Rick Ross. Producer Valentino Khan provides the soundtrack to this cinematic testament to B.o.B.’s success, laying down a synth and string driven banger that should inspire even the laziest stoner to get on his grind. Lyrically this is B.o.B. at his most rappingest (yep, it’s a word), laying down line after line aimed at asserting his dominance over an industry so many others are struggling to even survive in: “Most of these haters are mad rappers still waiting for a deal / and they jealous of my success cause my shoes cost more than a bill.” For much more proof of Bobby Ray’s determination to build a hip-hop legacy for himself cop his recently released Strange Clouds album, available now.
