Bobby Creekwater ft. Mykel - She’s Dead
Though Shady Records recording artist Bobby Creekwater is currently riding high off a string of acclaimed mixtape releases (the most recent of which, The B.C. Era, dropped last December), and preparing for the release of his debut full-length, the emcee’s growing success doesn’t change the fact that he’s got a few gripes with the hip-hop industry. On a previously-unreleased record, the ATL native gives his thoughts on the state of the genre. Mykel‘s hook on She’s Dead suggests an I Used to Love H.E.R.-style indictment of the game veiled as a tale of romance gone wrong, but, for whatever reason, Creekwater doesn’t take the conceptual bait. Regardless, the emcee’s rhymes are agile and pointed, and his beat boasts some uniquely off-kilter percussion. Though She’s Dead won’t be included on A Brilliant Mistake, it should whet fans’ appetites for the arrival of the album later this year.
