Capone-N-Norega ft. The Lox - Bodega Stories

Posted 6 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
Scram Jones
Album:
The War Report 2

With The War Report 2, will Capone-N-Noreaga be able to recapture the feel of their ‘97 debut? And if they do succeed, will today’s heads take notice? The mixed reader reviews on lead single The Reserves seem to indicate that the jury’s still out. Fortunately, they have a plan in place to cut through the apathy: first, order sandwiches. Second (and more importantly), team up with fellow East Coast icons D-Block/The LOX to regale us with a few gritty Bodega Stories. Over beatsmith Scram Jones’ stripped-down, piano-loop boardwork, Capone, N.O.R.E., Jada, Styles and Sheek spin stylized tales of the street life, topping it all off with a little rock-solid advice: β€œWhen you get arrested, when they ask you to speak without a lawyer, you neglect it.” CNN may not be reinventing the wheel, but fans of retro-informed hood music shouldn’t be disappointed. Has this track left you craving more hard-nosed rhymes and throwback beats? If the answer’s β€œYes,” you can find plenty more where this came from on War Report 2, due out on July 13 via Thugged Out Ent./Fontana/Universal.
