The greatest quality of a compilation album is the variety of artists you get on individual songs, as well as the project as a whole. When it comes to Closed Sessions Vol. 2 we’ve already heard cuts from Raekwon and L.E.P. Bogus Boys, which is already an interesting combination of artists, and now we’ve got a record that features both Marietta, Georgia band Vonnegutt and Illinois emcee Mic Terror. While his stage name might come across as slightly intimidating, Terror kicks off his Fresh Like Me verse on a humorous note as he raps, “All these hoes be at my house wanting to stick to the man/ Plus my d**k look like that sh*t missing a wrist and a hand.” On top of Vonnegutt frontman Kyle Lucas’ introductory verse the group also handles the production, which is heavy on the rock. As we wait for the album and accompanying documentary to be released in conjunction with MTV2, check out past Closed Sessions Vol. 2 releases Keep It Politics and Don’t Happen That Often, which are both available for free stream and download on DJBooth.
