Colin Munroe ft. K. Flay - Your Eyes

Producer:
Colin Munroe
Album:

After a sizable hiatus Colin Munroe continues to blaze a serious comeback trail with the release of the darkly understated Your Eyes. Following DJBooth-approved singles Invincible and The Fight of My Life, Your Eyes floats on an instrumental by the headliner himself filled with echoing guitar lines and densely layered synths. The result is a beat that’s both deeply dark and oddly hopeful, a feeling that Munroe only amplifies on the mic, delivering deliberately understated lyrics and his signature electronically distorted style vocals to tell the tale of a man who’s ready to let go of a lost love, but not completely ready. Providing the other side of this tale of love gone wrong is K. Flay (not to be confused with Kay Slay), who lays down some seriously somber bars of her own. No doubt about it, nothing sounds quite like a Colin Munroe record, and fans celebrating the return of his always creative music have a lot to look forward to. His Unsung Hero mixtape is set to drop this summer in partnership with Karmaloop and he’ll also be embarking on a tour with Flay starting on May 29.
