Consequence ft. Maino - Down This Road

Lee Bannon
Movies on Demand Mixtape

Having already declared his disdain for Childish Games, Consequence, the G.O.O.D. Music representative and “dude who kind of looks like Kanye from certain angles,” is now ready to hit the pavement on his new cut, the hypnotically entertaining Down This Road. Produced by Lee Bannon, who once again proves he knows how to let a beat breathe in all the right places, Down This Road is the story of a rapper who knows only too well the struggle to carve your own path in the rap game: “The road less traveled when you’re down to journey, results in black eyes like you’re down with Fergie.” And completing the track’s Bronx to Queens expressway is the always heavy caliber Maino, who drops another grit-filled guest verse. Personally, I feel like the hook could use some work, but it’s a mixtape joint, so complaining feels overly critical. Speaking of which, if you’re down with Down This Road be sure to cop Con’s Movies on Demand mixtape, dropping March 15, which is itself just a warm up to his Cons TV album, dropping…um…soonish.
