Is it possible to flip Lil Wayne‘s softest song to date into something street-certified, and thought-provoking to boot? If anyone can pull it off, it’s Long Beach mainstay Crooked I, who transforms How to Love into “How to Thug” on a new, unreleased freestyle. Over a tweaked version of Detail‘s instrumental, Crook takes a bold and uncompromising look at the circumstances leading to violent crime. While How to Thug isn’t set for inclusion on any forthcoming project, those craving more from Crooked I can find what they seek on the artist’s Planet C.O.B., Vol 2 mixtape, coming July 12.
