Crooked I may be the man today, but that wasn’t always the case. It took the Long Beach representative many long years of Struggle to achieve financial security much less carve out a niche in the music game. On a freshly-released single off Slaughterhouse‘s May House Rules mixtape, Crook looks back on the days when had nothing to his name but a few dollars and a far-fetched dream of rap stardom. Tabu Beats provides a foreboding, sample-laced beat to accompany the artist’s anguished autobiographical bars, and WhoIsHiDef directs the joint’s somber, gritty visual accompaniment.
