CunninLynguists ft. Khujo Goodie & Killer Mike - Georgia (Remix)

Posted 7 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
Kno
Album:
Strange Journey Vol. 1

In recent years, Georgia‘s become synonymous with Southern hip-hop, but in this newly-released remix (and their first Booth feature as headliners), Kno, Deacon the Villain, and Natti of CunninLynguists seek to remind listeners that, in addition to birthing African-American legends past and present, the state also bore witness to some of the ugliest chapters in our country’s ongoing battle with racial prejudice.  Delivering a melancholy, guitar-laced instrumental, Kno sets the stage for vivid verses in which guest artists Killer Mike and Khujo Goodie (of Goodie Mob) lyrically explore the historical struggles that affect the lives of Southerners to this day.  Deacon completes the picture with a sweepingly elegiac hook, singing, “The clay is running red from the blood that done been shed, down in Georgia…”  This record is set for inclusion on the May 26th release of the trio’s forthcoming LP, Strange Journey Vol. 1.
