Cynikal - Take Off

Even though hip-hop is a universal language, it is always refreshing to hear an artist from another country put their spin on the artform. London native and emcee Cynikal does just that on his DJBooth debut, Take Off. Following the tone-setting, rainy-day sample that kicks off the proceedings, Cynikal reminds listeners that issues like stress and struggle have no geographical restrictions. In the process, he proves that he is a true student of hip-hop, showcasing his lyrically ability (especially in the third verse) and a self-produced beat, complete with chopped-n-screwed hook. Take Off will be featured on Cynikal’s Toby EP, which is tentatively due out this July. In the meantime, no matter what country you’re currently streaming this song, we hope you enjoy.
