Damian Marley - Dem Neva Mek It

Ghetto Youths Intl. Presents Set Up Shop, Vol. 1

Has it really been almost three years since Damian Marley hooked up with rap legend Nas to drop Distant Relatives? Damn, how time flies. Absent from our pages since way back in 2010, the reggae legend finally makes his return to the DJBooth with Dem Neva Mek It, his contribution to Ghetto Youth International‘s latest compilation album. Produced by the artist himself, this upbeat single sounds a little like what would happen if Little Richard went in on a dancehall cut: boogie-woogie blues piano chords and a syncopated rhythm section back Junior Gong as he laughs off his competition in exuberant, high-energy verses. Feeling it? You can find Dem Neva Mek It, along with contributions from fellow Bob Marley scions Stephen, Julian and Daniel Bambataa on Ghetto Youths Intl. Presents Set Up Shop, Vol. 1, released February 19, and available now on iTunes.
