Das Racist - Girl

Producer:
Blood Diamonds
Album:
Relax

Every rap album needs to include a little something just for the female fans, and Das Racist‘s 2011 debut set is no exception. If you know the Brooklyn crew, however, you know that their take on the “ladies’ jam” formula is going to be a little different from the status quo. On new single Girl, an upbeat, indie-dance instrumental by Blood Diamonds bangs in the back as crew member Heems mixes deliberately corny game-spitting (“Girl, you’re really cool / Smart—that’s good at school.”) with weed talk and left-field cultural references. Director Aristotle Athens follows his lead, sending-up hip-pop video clichés in his hilarious official visuals. Featuring Girl and much more, Das Racist’s Relax LP is available now in stores and online via Greedhead Ent..
